Radar detector test in 2/02 Car & Driver
Got the Feb C&D in the mail today. New radar detector test. V1 kicks butt, but C&D did mention the higher than average number of false alarms from the V1.
Out of 100 points:
97 - V1
73 - Escort Passport 8500
61 - Bel 980
43 - Cobra XR-1050
35 - Whistler 1780
34 - Uniden LRD 987
The categories where the V1 was not perfect were ergonomics and features (13 of 15) and city mode (4 of 5). There was no explanation of the former in the article. The latter was due to false alarms, not sensitivity.

Love my V1. Have had it since I got a Ka band ticket in 1994 while had a Escort Passport in my 1994 Vette. Cop told me if I had a detector with Ka I would not have gotten a ticket. Ordered the V1 30 minutes later. The Best there is!
