2000 A6 2.8 Hesitation
Second, have you had the brake light switch adjusted? Mine was misadjusted at the factory, the brake lights wouldn't come on until at least an inch or so of pedal travel. I had this fixed, but the dealer went a tad too far and made it too sensitive to the point where the ECU and cruise control thought I was riding the brake. The ECU apparently interprets simultaneous accel and brake inputs as a problem and commands 'go slow'. (To the point of being unsafe at stop signs.) Backing out a bit of the brake light switch adjustment brought it back to normal.
A test for this 'too sensitive' condition is whether your cruise control works. The CC wouldn't engage since it thought I was braking.
Hope this helps, and if you get it resolved, please let us know.
