The continuing saga of my check engine light...
"old yeller" I've come to call her by. Seems like a good friend that is always by your side.
So far, the dealer has replaced the following:
- Coolant temp sensor
- Turbo by-pass valves
- Mass air flow sensor
- Throttle body boot
Based on info I got on this board, I insisted they check the TBB this time. They only found the vacuum leak after testing the system with a smoke tool. Sure enough, the TBB had a crack in it.
At least my dealer provided a loaner this time (2002 1.8T Jetta), and they detailed the car. Unfortunately, the guy who did the detailing was an Armour-All freak, and I just spent the last hour wiping the crap off the front grill areas and the tires. Luckily, he didn't touch the interior.
Oh well, I can't say I miss old yeller. I have this sneaking suspicion that she'll be back.

That's funny cuz...
The dealer replaced the same things on my car, and now, the check engine light won't turn off! It seems to run fine, and after driving the loaner mercury sable for 3 weeks, I don't want to go back and give them my car again.
