German cars and Japanese cars...
There truly is a difference. I wouldn't go so far as to say bad or good, but I prefer German cars in that they have a heavier-handed, "built to last a lifetime" feel. My brother has my old (cherry) '84 RX7 GSL-SE that is a very nice car. My cousin just bought an '83 Porsche 944 that, too, is a very clean and low mile car. The Porsche feels and looks like new with 51k miles on it. NO WEAR anywhere. The Mazda, which I acquired in 1995 with 47k miles, never felt as substantial, although it has worn well. It had a light, tossable feel that carried over to the hardware and switchgear.
I know, I know, apples and oranges to a degree, but I prefer solid and substantial over light and airy when it comes to cars.
Just my $0.02.
Congratulations - Mike
