Vibration--suggestions please!
They have now done everything possible to cure the vibration but upon driving it this afternoon, the service manager believes the problem still persists. At certain speeds, there is a noticeable vibration felt through the steering wheel. I'll pick the car up tonight to verify if the problem is still there--I'm fairly certain that it will be.
As I've mentioned previously, the dealer has tried new wheels and tires, half-shafts, rotors, wheel bearings and hubs. Everything in the suspension has been checked and tightened. They don't believe it is the engine or the transmission, but haven't completely ruled those things out.
The Audi rep. will drive the car with the service mgr. and me early next week. In the meantime, can any of you Audi fans think of something that the dealer may have overlooked? They are receptive to hearing about potential causes of the problem.
Oh yeah, I asked for a different loaner for the weekend and the Honda was swapped for an Avalon. The Avalon is vibration free to be sure, but not close to the A6 in most other areas. I look upon it as a "better Buick."
Thanks for your help!
