Any "authorized" repair solution for radio drift? I did a search but no real solutions forthcoming..

Is there a solution to this?

I've read about it, but not seen any solutions?

When you say "radio drift" do you mean the poor AM reception some speak of, or do you mean...

...that the station settings move between uses of the car? If the latter, many of the 2000 head units had to be replaced for that particular issue.

The latter. So replacement is the solution? Any idea why?

My 2001 allroad had its radio replaced twice for this problem

I guess it was a defect in the radio, so it was easier and faster to replace the radio and send the core back to be fixed.

Can't tell you why, but in my case it appeared to be in conjunction with whether the headlights...

...were on when I shut off the ignition. The dealership made that connection, as I wasn't the first they'd had come in with the problem. They ended up getting all new headunits for the 2000s, and replacing them as people came in for their schedualed maintenance, unless they wanted to come in earlier and have it swapped (which is what I did).
