Suspension swap question...
Here's a question...
Can I put my sport suspension (shocks & springs)from my '01 A6 2.7t into my wife's '99 A6 Avant? Her's need replacing.
It would conveniently pave the way for some coilovers! :-)

That's funny. I have the 2001 A6 2.7T 6sp sport as well, and my wife has an 1999 A6 2.8 Avant. But I guess we're a self-selecting group here on this board!
By the way, I have been considering swapping out the sport suspension with coilovers as well -- what are you seeing as the advantage/disadvantage from your research? My sport suspension is fairly stiff already -- is the coilover stiffer, or just corners better?

I think the disadvantage is that the sport suspension is fairly stiff for the Avant which is an around town/trip car. My wife is already complaining since the move from 16's to 17's. I did go a little high on the pressures knowing that I could back them down a bit and she'd like it better. :-) planning ahead...
If I just get new shocks for the Avant or if I can move them I still need to get both vehicles aligned.
I'm thinking it's not going to be worth swapping and losing more ride quality in the Avant just to save the cost of the shocks.
But then I have less of an excuse to put the H&R Coilovers in my car :-).
