Auto A6 2.7t

Is the auto tip 2.7t as much fun to drive as the manual?

define fun ...both have apeal to different individuals. I drive a 6spd car and my neighbor has an auto he is having as much fun driving his car as I am! Personally I prefer the stick.

The TIP's not bad, for an auto tranny, but the stick is vastly more fun to drive.

Pushing the TIP buttons is not close to the same experience as rowing/clutching a manual tranny car, nor does the car respond the same. The TIP is an entirely different game than either the auto-mode or the stick shift.

I wish I'd gotten the stick. I can't tell you how many times I've stomped on the gas, only to be nearly flattened by a mega-SUV while waiting what seems like an eternity for the TIP to shift down and the engine/turbo to spool up. (Of course, once things get going, they really go.) Frankly, I think the factory setup presents a bit of a safety issue. I've thought about the tip chip to fix it.
