Default Uh, yes. A manual transmission is very different from an automatic.

No, a Tiptronic is not close to a manual.

Sorry, I don't understand the question or the decision criteria. Seems to me that it's not a matter of value here. Either you want one, or the other.

Percentage wise, there are relatively few manuals available. In some markets and timeframes, then, they're worth more. In other, less. Overall, it's a wash.

Only the 2.7T had a manual option (including the allroad).

Default If you can find one, the six speed is the way to go...

If you're not turned off by a manual, you'll get better performance (0-60 in 6.0 sec for the stick vs. 6.7 for the tip), more headroom if you decide to boost the engine output via chipping (i.e., the manual transmission can handle the added HP better than the tip), and (IMO) more fun.

An added reason I went with the stick: My ex had an A6 whose tiptronic died on her. BIG bucks repair I'll be happy to avoid.

I think the answer will be for you to drive both and go with your gut. The diffs are not soooo great as to let anything other than that rule the day. That said, the manuals are harder to find (<15% A6es imported have the stick) and thus may command a higher price.

Good luck!

Default Driving tip is just not the same ... plus manual trans is stronger than auto...

plus, driving a tip is just not the same as a manual 6spd. I never use tip in my audi. I get enough shifting in my TA or Silvia lol.

If I had a choice I would take the manual tyranny.

However, if you do a lot of stop and go an auto may be more relaxing. Plus you can use your free hand for that super slushy or phone ;-)

What do you want to drive? That should be your criteria.
