A story of a nice friendly run with a Nissan 3.5SE type car
Have no idea what just saw the 3.5 SE badge,-Maxima or ALtima, I have no clue, my guess is Altima.
Was on the 405 South and for some reason right after the 55 South exit, the 405 clears up and offers a good high speed run all the way to Jamboree exit- a mile or two.
Well I had passed a car and noticed this Nissan switch into my lane behind and comes up fast. You can sort of tell what a driver will do after you observe them for a second. He ends up in front of me after we had switched a lane and he is right behind a car, the freeway opens up like a wand cleared it right after the 55 South and I knew he was goin to punch it and change lanes to the right. He goes and I drop into 4th and give it some gas at maybe 65-70mph. He is pulling away slightly since he was first to go and about 3 seconds later, we are going the same speed , then my car is closing fast from ~5-6 car lengths down to 2-3 cars very quickly, then I just stayed that distance by backing off the gas. Then he slows and I slow and he switches over a lane and guns it, I had also switched over a lane and was about 8 car lengths back then I hit it, again in 4th at 70mph. Same thing, Nissan pulls a little from hitting the gas first, then stops pulling and then is quickly being reeled in. I switch lanes and we both slow down, the closest traffic was maybe 400 yards ahead but to the both of us that was close enough and we coasted down to 65-70mph and wave and I get off at Jamboree. We were both letting the cars stretch their legs. I was able to use 4th from 65mph to ?? and was in it for about 8-10 seconds.
Was nice to run the car and let the K04s work medium hard. I tell you they are effortless in the power they deliver. Its like they are yawning and bored, but your still heading into ludicrious speed. I can just imagine what the non detuned version software delivers for the lucky 6 speeders! But alas being detuned was my own choice to perserve the car somewhat. Gotta smile that its only running .9bar and less lbs than K03 chipped cars out there, except the AMS 300lb chip designed for the K03 Tiptronic car.(Plug for AMS : )talk to April about the AMS offerings )
