Window Regulator Clips
My 99 Passats passenger window came crashing down the other day because the imfamous plastic clips that hold the window to the regulator cable broke. Of course every Beetle, Jetta, and half the A6's have been recalled now, but not the Passat. Called the dealer and he told me the same crap about having to buy the whole regulator for some 2.00 clips! Does ANYONE know where I can get the clips for the front passanger window (Power)? Are the A6's the same as the Passat? Any guidance or direction would be great. TIA! LATERS,

I'll see what I can do. The inner door panel is metal and fixed by about 10 bolts, we unbolted all of them and pulled the panel back far enough to get access, but I haven't removed it completely - I believe the window track and the locking mechanism is holding it in place. The recall does just replace the plastic clips that clip to the cable and slide into the window, but the Passat is not covered, even though half the A6's are. That's crap. What's even worse is that I can't buy the clips from the dealer without purchasing the whole freakin regulator!! Someone HAS to have these things!! I heard the new clips are now made out of aluminum rather than plastic (mine were white). Maybe they should have thought of that along time ago. I've heard stories of Jetta owners having the clips replaced 4 times before the car hit 20,000 miles!! LATERS,

If it helps, these are the guide colors in the LQ recall.
Here is some glide info- If the glides are BLUE- they are good. If the glides are GREEN they are bad and get replaced with ORANGE.
