Default Need Help decoding VAG-COM DTCs

hey all,

Can anyone help me decode these fault codes?
Or where I can find out the meaning of these codes?

A friend of mine from work borrowed a VAG-COM adaptor for his audi. He found no faults on his MY01 A6.

I took advantage and had mine checked too. Unfortunately the Software reported 6 fault codes on my MY00 A6 6 Speed 2.7T.

16815 - .(Shareware text)... P0431 - 35-10 Intermittent
16684 - .(Shareware text)... P0300 - 35-10 Intermittent
16687 - .(Shareware text)... P0303 - 35-10 Intermittent
16690 - .(Shareware text)... P0306 - 35-10 Intermittent
18010 - .(Shareware text)... P1602 - 35-10 Intermittent
16689 - .(Shareware text)... P0305 - 35-10 Intermittent

Bummer, And Im not covered under warranty anymore. Could this be a result of the MTM chip? I got the MTM chip just recently and Im really curious what these codes could mean.

Thanks in advance.

Default Some help....

16815 Warm up catalyst efficiency below treshold Bank 2

16684 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

16687 Cyl.3 Misfire Detected

16690 Cyl.6 Misfire Detected

16689 Cyl.5 Misfire Detected

18010 Power Supply (B+) Terminal 30 Low Voltage

Sounds like you could be having a couple different issues. The first 5 sound like they could be related to bad gas. Also, when were the plugs changed? Have you had your battery checked? Perhaps that would explain the last one. Perhaps it is a bad pin on the ECU or something <shrug>

Default Re: Some help....

Thanks for the info especially the link.

Ouch!!!! Missfires? That really sounds awful.

Havent changed the spark plugs since I brought them in for the regular maintenance. I believe the maintenance schedule required it be changed @ 32K.

The codes were cleared and hopefully they would stay that way. Im gonna try to borrow the tool again in another week or so and see if the the errors come still come up.

thanks again
That was very helpful.

Default No problem, report back and let us know. You could always pull a plug or

two to check (pain in the *** on the 2.7T though). If the misfires never come back, I would probably go with the bad gas theory.

Good Luck,

Default Just curious - did you clear all codes after installing the ECU?

I have seen all kinds of crazy codes after installing ECU's in my car.

Also, is your car running OK?

If it's running OK, I'd try clearing the codes, then driving for awhile and see what pops up.
