Any techs out there? Faint whistling noise on acceleration. Someone just posted this below but..

I noticed it (I think) right after I was chipped. I would deffinitly describe it as a police car siren off in the distance. OK, lets say it's a (dare I say it) blown turbo. What else should I look for. Should the sound worsen over time if it is the bearings? Or is it something else? I'm new on the learning curve when it come to the mechanics of the turbo. Any feedback would be appreciated.

My friends on the B5 S4 board will be able to tell you much more about blown turbs, but . . .

from what I understand, If you only THINK you hear the sound of cooked turbos, you don't have them.

FWIW, I can't hear mine with the window up (even with the radio off), but they are often noticeable with windows down, especially when passing under a bridge or near any good reflective surface.

If you have a VAG, you can log your boost on block 115 to see what you are getting vs. what you expect.

No doubt the APR is working your turbos harder, but with careful warmup/cooldown, you should have a good chance of avoiding the turbo lady.

I would check for boost leaks if you haven't since chipped.

After I chipped mine I blew hose after hose. TBB & F-hose notorious for leaking and making similar sounds. AWE sells a pressure test adapter helps w/ alot of questions. A blown turbo sounds like a police siren inside the car! I'd test the hoses.
