Rear pads & dealer b.s. update ... long
The SAs at this dealer don't like it that I went out of town to another dealer--one was bold enough to make comments to that point.
I called my dealer's SM and asked about this 3M label. He was pretty amazed. I also said turned the rotors. He said usually there isn't much material to turn on Audis at that point. Parking brake wasn't holding on slight incline either--needing 8-10 clicks. He said it should be holding by 6. He was extremely helpful and said that he would schedule an appt. if I would like them to look at the car.
Called the SM at the dealer that did this work and expressed my dissatisfaction. He blamed it on a new tech from the "Audi Academy," and asked if I could bring it in. I did so, and they addressed the issues. The SM was very apologetic, and the story changed. Now, the tech that did the work does 500 brake jobs a year, but doesn't do many Audis, but it just slipped his mind.
He gave me a coupon for a free in-between oil change and assured me errors like this wasn't their MO. This is their MO from my experience from my old C4, that's why I went out of town.
Tip of the day. Don't put up lies and crap, and someone screwing with you.
My usual dealership they are everywhere, and for every year, and every advisor.
For now on, I'm going to have a tire shop that does inspections do them (or maybe the VW/BMW dealer), and have them give me a list of what's wrong. If the car doesn't pass, I'll make an appt. with my dealer, rather than go through this crap again.
Takes extra time and money, but I'm not going to put up with someone's b.s.
