Star light star bright I just lost my right auto leveling light!

I figured it was just a matter of time and I would lose one of the auto levelers on the HIDS... I get in the car tonight and notice the passengers side light is trying to find nightcrawlers on the road... Shut it off and see if it's just me imagining things... Nope...Drivers side levels like a champ, passengers side is asleep... BAH! Oh well, it has to go in to the dealer anyways for them to fix the mem. on the passengers seat, and I am smelling what best can be described as hot metal when I shut it down and parked in the garage - SOMETIMES after a pretty good romp burning oil smell... Curious to see what that is all about.
Oh yeah, just wondering too... What are the "vents" or sensors in the B-pillar? (near the top - face both forward and backwards) Are they temp sensors?

I have this auto-leveling problem in my car except sometimes both lights point down, other times they take turns. Oh course, everytime I go tho the dealer for it, they behave and they find nothing wrong with them. It's really starting to tick me off. At this point, they must think I'm crazy.

I have been dealing with the same problem for years..

I even swapped out both housings thinking it was something internal with the motors and it resolved the problem for a while but now it is back. Sometimes just one, sometimes both.

Hmm... Came back to normal for now...

I made the service appointment a couple days ago, doesn't look like they will get me in until next Friday though - In the meantime, yesterday, I get get in the car, and the light is working fine... Autolevels with no problem....Hopefully they can recreate the problem.

Mine is the same, sometimes they work fine for a few days

then both will shine down. Mainly it is my driver's side that shines down. Please let me know what your dealer finds, I will track this thread. Mine was into the dealer 3 times and they never cured the problem for more than a month.
