Replacement Xenon Headlight Bulbs
OK...I see some of the old posts on this topic...But I cannot live with the new xenon headlight that the dealer installed on my 99a6 2.8 when they replaced my defective one...Its to white/yellow and doesn't match the other side...I don't even want to get them to replace the other one because I hate the new replacements' color...So I am going to replace the xenon bulbs in my existing housing...I want really bluish ones that are good quality too...any recommendations?
PS- How hard are they to change? Any FAQs on this?

Here is a post I found on how to replace...
Found it searching the A6/S6 forum for "xenon bulb replacement." Don't think I saw this one on Stoney's Links...odd lots of stuff on removing the lens, doing clear corners, setting the leveling with the VAG, I did not see on for the replacement steps.

May need to remove few things for easier access
Plastic cover of power steering reservoir - driver's side, air intake - for pass. side. Installing buls is a bit tricky - there's a gap on the bulb's housing for proper positioning. Be carefull not to drop pins that hold the headlamp covers, otherwise you'll have to search for it somewhere in the belly pan.

There are different p/n for D2S bulbs...
Some M3's come with a p/n different from the Audi bulb even though they're both D2S bulbs. The BMW part is $230 list vs the Audi $180 list (Ask me how I know this). The M3 bulb is whiter than a 5 year old 4.2A6 D2S..........
Somewhere I read that the stock bulbs are like 4K Kelvin vs 5.3K K which would support my observation that the M3 bulbs are 'whiter.'
I haven't plugged in the replacement bulbs, just noticed the p/n changes.
