tranny problems ? (not the off topic "tranny")
cars tiptronic won't work. It shifts like a reular automatic even when I move the shifter into the tip gate. On the dash, all of the selections are illuminated, not just a lighted square behind the selected P,R,N,D or whatever. Also, seems like it wants to occasionally stay in only one gear and not downshift. What's going on here? HELP !

You're in "limp mode". Do a search... How many miles?
Is it always this way, even after stopping and restarting? Is there a CEL? Do you have a tranny chip?
Should run diags for codes, but this is how it's supposed to react when something's wrong. The fix could be as "simple" as a fluid and filter change to major surgery.
