A6 4.2 brake and tire wear

I purchased an '03 A6 4.2 from the local Audi dealer about a year ago, with 12K mi. They put on 4 new Continental Contact Sport tires. The car now has 23.5K total miles, and the front tires are completely shot, and the rears are almost gone at 5/32. Also, the brake pads and rotors are shot. Dealer says I need 4 new tires and rotors (no warranty), plus pads and allignment (warranty). Is this normal? Shouldn't I be getting more than 11,000 miles on tires and 23,000 miles on rotors? I drive very reasonably.

yes you should. Do you rotate? also don't buy from the dealer...

As they tend to be overpriced for these types of services. Ask on this fourm what tires people use.

How do you drive?

I got 20k out of first set of rotors, and 50k+ on the second...70k on pads

pads, tires, rotors, all depand how hard or soft you drive the car.

Yes, although if you drive it hard maybe not...

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/91978/audi6.jpg"></center><p>I drive fairly spirited. Front rotors/pads replaced at 33,000 miles (covered under factory warranty). At 42,000 dealer inspected pads and said will probably need all pads replaced at 50,000 service while still under warranty.
