4.2 V8 overheating woes
After checking this board while waiting in my motel for my car to get fixed, found my overheating problem is experienced by others here. I found an indie shop to do the work. The short of it is there are at least 2 pulley sizes on the water pumps. The original is around 65mm and the one they found was 75mm or so. This changes the cam timing by 1/2 a tooth of the timing belt.
Any of you folks know about this? If they had just buttoned it up, what would have happened, if anything?

1/2 a tooth isn't the end of the world, but the car may not be at it's absolute peak power.
and may feel sluggish at times.
Basically the valves are opening or closing just a little too soon or too late.
