Ystday, I tried to change my front brake pads on my car. I removed the spring, the 21 mm bolts,....

but the caliper did not come loose. I read the bentley manual, which says to remove the guide pins. Now, my question is what tool do I need to removed those pins? I tried an allen wrench, but the guide pins look like they have a weird shape. Can someone help out?

pad replacment

If you have HP2 brakes you don't need to unbolt anything. Just remove the spring clip and push the piston back in.

use a pair of gripped pliers with a flat metal end and simply yank it out the hole...

an adjustable wrench also works just fine...

I appreciate the help Donp, but I have ATE caliper not the HP2 ones. =)

np, donp's link to the tech article is all u need...

1 person + pads + screwdrivers + brake quiet

and....watch the master resevoir on the brake fluid as it is corrosive...(orange cap in engine bay near battery)

your hardest part will be getting the stupid brake sensor wire cap turned 90 degrees torwards the trunk of the car.... ugh. break it and be done with it =)
