screeching noise from front passenger side

Hi,

I jut changed the from drivers side axle this weekend, and everything went fine. However the day after the install, I noticed a strange "metal-on-metal" screeching noise from the front driver's side part of the car. It comes and goes and is not constant and I hae no idea what it could be, since the entire axle and CV boots were replaced, so they were well greased. If any body has suggestions/ideas I'd be game to listen.

Stone or something between the shield and the brake disc, BTDT

Possible to pull on the shield, and dislodge whatever it is, just by turning steering wheel right over and sticking arm in there.

Happened to me on a camping trip, the noise is something to behold!

Or its possible you bent the shield enough to contact the disc.

I'll give it a go this evening when I get back to my car...it certainly sounds like a horrible noise which i why i left the car at home today...I just hope it's something is a minor as a stone or the shield rubbing...those are pretty easy to fix. I just didn't want another excuse to jack up the car again, since my "fun" project this weekend is to replace the upper passenger side control arm.

check between brake disc and shield

I had a bolt from the shield stuck in there - made horrible, horrible sound. Took the wheel off, took a look, saw the culprit, got it out with a screwdriver. All in all - 20 min job.
