Ignition Control Module question...

SO im having my ICM replaced at my dealer and they quoted me $600+ for the part and around $350 for labor. My question is this:

I did a search on google and found the OEM Bosch Ignition Control Module on drivewire.com for $218, compared with the $600 I was quoted from the dealer. To my luck, he called and said it was backordered, so I gleefully replied "no problem, I've got my own" and am bringing it to the stealership for install. The service tech, however, told me that I'll need two ICMs instead of one.

So my question for you all is this, are there/do I need to replace 2 ignition control modules, or was he blowing smoke at me?

Well, there are 2 of them mounted on top of the airbox. Are they both bad? The swap should take

all of 15 minutes - much easier than an air filter change. $350 in labor better include some serious diagnostic time. I believe that they are redundant, but perhaps both are used at all times. STFA as there has been discussions on these before.
