JG campaign throttle body replacement on 99 A6

Just called Audi customer service. Told me that there is a recall campaign to replace the throttle body in my 99 A6 2.8. Were you guys aware of this? And how will a new throttle body affect the car?? I'm sure for the better.

I ignored mine. Best case scenerio is that they won't break anything and the car will run the same.

I still have to take in my A4 for the ignition switch recall..

But it doesn't have plates, etc at the moment :P

Don't bother until it fails. The new one will fail too eventually.

any one have a link to one of the recall notices? whats the deal with the TB?

I havent heard of any problems with that on these cars, but they can't fix the MFD. WTF.

well here we are, and i have posted twice in the last few days on this... i am working to get this done in germany, and they say it is a service action and this involves customer satisfaction,,,and as such i am not eligible being in germany! WTF!am i not a customer, am i not to be satisfied? i will be sending them a bill and there will be a follow up to let youall know the outcome, i will prevail... i hope

That's not true, it applies to all

SoCal drivers have been known to drive up into the mountains where the TB can ice up.

Read the recall again, it says that a service action is in place for owners outside the "cold weather" states.
