There is also a car show on TV now where they show a kit to put a small block

ford engine in the Miata. They also put IMO an ugly body kit on but the engine was a ~400HP beast.

I'd prefer to see a Miata turned into it's predecessor, the Mazda Cosmo, but this...

Derivative, but beautiful nonetheless, the Datsun Fairlady. I saw one of these driving down hwy 1 near Big Sur a few years ago and was really impressed. A Miata would look huge next to it.
