Can anyone check this in their car for me?? Glovebox drain problem.. follow up

Can some one check if there is this gap in your front windshield for me? (see pic)

Its in the left side leaning towards the center of the window. The plastic lining is pretty sealed from the sides, but starts to open up as much as a finger width.

I believe this is the source of my water leaking inside up above the glovebox compartment. If this opening in the picture is not normal.

So i have tried the evaporator drain, and it is fine. Then i checked the sunroof drain and they are wonderfull. So i give up and try the dealer and just i suspected, they hinted at getting a new windshield!!! No way

Doesn't act as a seal; the glass goes down to a drip point...

...pop the hood and take that plastic piece off to confirm. And shop-vac all the leaves and crap out from under that cover...it's likely causing water to backup and flow in through the HVAC air intake on the pass. side...BTDT.
