Garmin C550 - or you recommendatin for a portable navigation
Noticed Costco has the Garmin C550 on sale for $199 - want a portable unit for the car...any recommendations or opinions on what's out there, what I SHOULD look for in one of these? TIA!

I love my C550. Paid a ton more than that a year ago...
The bluetooth on it works GREAT. When I use it in the Infiniti for bluetooth, everyone says they have no idea I am in a car (I will use that synched to one phone and the factory BT to another... night and day difference).
The nav part of it is spot on, and everything is clear and easy to use. Also, the traffic system works amazing as well.
The only drawback I notice is the battery life is pretty crappy. I have it hard wired with the cord into the Infinit, so when I use it in the Audi I just run on battery. Also, the cord has the antenna for the traffic system so if you go commando it is without the traffic.

I have a Garmin 650 and a TomTom. The TomTom's interface is more logical, IMO.>>>
It's a small difference though. You really can't go wrong with either one.
Just be sure to get one with "Text-to-speech" capability, so that the unit tells you the street name instead of just telling you to turn in 500 feet or whatever.
