replacing driver's door handle with back door handle?

hey guys, i wanna get rid of my key lock hole on my driver's door, and i saw an article somewhere before of someone replacing the handle on a b5 with a back one... can the same be done on a c5 a6? so basically what i want to do is, take the handle from the driver's side back door and pout it on the front door. anyone know if i just need to replace the handle or the whole assembly? any input would be good. and yes i know that if my battery dies i cant get into my car, i'll take the chance

So, uh.. What happens if the battery dies? Or your remote stops working?

use the second remote... like i said, ill take the chance rather then get my car stolen

if someone wants teh car bad enough, the lack of the exterior lock isn't going to slow them down..

well my door lock cylinder is already shot cause someone tried getting in, so key is useless already
