recoding the transmission on a UK 2000 S6 with 00001 coding
I have a 2000 UK Audi S6 and want to recode the transmission to sport. The current coding is 00001, I have found several links & posts regarding 00002 coding, is it the same only a digit out.. ie... do I recode mine 00031 instead of 00032 as I'm in the UK?
00002, stock coding
00012, sport coding
00022, stock coding, but will hold first gear in Tiptronic to redline regardless of throttle position and then shift to second.

Also what is the difference between the 22 coding and the 32 coding? They both say the same thing..

It is a bit of trial and error on some early model C5s - so go ahead and try
te 00032 (that is what I have in my 2000 2.7T) and if that does not work then try the 00022 or the others. Just note, before starting the process. your current code (the 00001).
For what it is worth, I've tried to code some early model ('98-'99) C5 A6 vehicles and have had success in some and in others the codes would not work - the car just reverted back to stock coding. Not sure why, but it taught me there seems to be no risk in trying the different codes.

difference between "22" and "32" is "stock" vs. "sport"...
...but both will hold tip in 1st longer.
But, as grapeking suggested, no harm in trying different codes. If it is not a valid code, it will not store.

No harm in trying it. My guess, is that perhaps the Euro S6 is already coded...
...for sport and to hold 1st longer. If I have a chance, I will look at the bentley codes when I get home tonight.
