had to add alittle g12 and some ps fluid to the big girl this morning....no obvious leaks
and the hood strut was a bit of a pita....at first it didn't work and towards the end it was fine....all in all the big girl performed great these last few days when the temps were below zero....

I just had to add coolant too. Didn't see any on the ground or in the snow.
Granted I think my thermostat just went because the coolant temp never gets up to normal unless I am in traffic, but I still have heat. Any thoughts?

I have a leak coming from a corner of my rad that only shows up when the temperature dips...
below freezing. It requires top ups that amount to about 600 ml over the course of a winter. My mechanic said that this was "normal" from standpoint that he'd seen it so many times before, he considered it common. He suggested that I monitor it rather than replace the rad, and it's been consistent for the last three years. At this point, with this car, I consider it normal.

I went and bought the "special" fluid from a VW dealer $19.95, Apparently scared the ps fluid
into not leaking routinely. Now it's very sporadic at best. What about the double seals at each end of the pressure hose? (Rack to pump)?
