Road Trip
The drive down I-5 in central California never went by more quickly. Drove past the San Bernardino fires on Thursday afternoon just hours before they had to close the highway. The following picture was taken on CA-127 looking at the Salt Spring Hills near Shoshone in the Mojave Desert (elev 600 ft).

Coincidentally, it appears that the 04 A8L has a governed speed limit of 127 true mph (135 indicated mph). Or so I'm told.
The next photo is at Death Valley Junction (elev 2000 ft).

No photos in Death Valley, I'm afraid. It was getting too hazy from the fires in LA, and there wasn't enough time to explore.
Got to Henderson, NV before the haze rolled in; this next photo is at Rainbow Vista in the Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada.

Finally, home sweet home.

Average mileage for the trip was about 21 mpg. Problems - none (except for the intermittent blank MMI screen on startup, which was NOT fixed by the radio replacement).
Time spent agonizing over the bumper dings from the dealer - 2 ms.
Amazingly, I didn't see another A8L on the entire trip. Got a few Hi-5s on I-5, and got my friend in Henderson in trouble with his wife for wanting one so bad.
