ok new one leaking manifold
I found that I have a air/vac leak on fuel injector #1. Well it is not the injector it is injector itself. It is the acutal hole in the manifold. It is giving me a code of bank 1 and bank 2 lean. I put in new o rings on all the injectors. Boy were they dirty. They did come clean. I swapped injector one and 2 and still have a leak on #1. I can hear it I sprayed it with throttle body cleaner and can hear it suck. Has anyone ever had this problem? the only way I think it can be fixed is finding a little thicker oring for the bottom of the injector that mounts in the manifold or new manifold. Anyone else have seen this issue? I think it might be a mfg defect. How the heck can one hole grow large or out of round? The rest are perfect. no leaks

found the leak.
after much lost sleep last night trying to figure out how this happend I went back to take another look. I sprayed all around the manifold and found that in the corner near cyl#1 I found the leak and it is the manifold istelf leaking. Need a new gasket. Well 2 of them. I will be tearing apart later this week. It seems pretty easy just lots of stuff to take off. I already took off the rail and injectors and that was very easy and only takes about 15 mins. Like I stated earlier the injectors where pretty dirty and full of burn crud. It was very easy to clean them. I used throttle body cleaner and they are like new. Also don't forget to change the orings. the bottom ones are larger then the top ones. I hope this fixes my lean mixture once and for all. I have faith it will.

yes stealer but
they do have them on line at those dicount place like speedy etc. the problem is you don't know what you need cause there are 2 diff sizes.. When I go home I will get you the audi p/n from the stealer. The prices from the stealer are the same as on line though.. about 2.50 each which is a rip for a o-ring. you will need 8 small for the top of the injectors that sit in the fuel railand 8 large for the bottom that sit in the manifold. The injectors are very easy to take apart off the rail and manifold. Just unplug the vac line and wires to the injectors and diconnect the wire harness on the fule rail ( I think those go the knock sensor) and you might have to take off the vac control for the cruise 9only one nut) and pull up the rail. All of the injectors come out. then clean them buy spaying throttle body cleaner on them. I guess you could soak them in fuel injector cleanner.. change o rings lube orings with oil or vac grease. (I like vac grease ) and line up injectors in manifold and push down. the whole thing will take about 1/2 hr including cleaning injectors. VERY VERY EASY. As for the gasket on the intake mainifold... that sould not be too bad of a job... I will try to take pictures as I do it later this week.
