2003 S8 with Nav. Any way to get the tripcomp to display COMPASS readout?
What about replacement rear view mirrors?
My dad would like a compass for the car for Christmas and I'd like to get hiim something other than a cheesy stick on one.

You sure? I have the Nav in my '00 S4. I was told to get a Nav CD not to use it...
but just to have it in there so I get a compass on the dash. By the time the CDs you sent me got here I already wrecked my car, so I haven't had a chance to test it :~(

With the Sat nav (not nav plus) I did not know you could get a compass in the dash....
With the nav plus, you have to have a D type with the software upgrade to get the compass in the display.

I remember being told by someone that you can get a compass in the dash with the generic sat nav...
but I have no hands-on experience with it. I don't know if it is real v. lore. One of the reasons I got those CDs from you was to test that out
