Power steering / suspension noise?
During the last few days my '01 S8 (almost 31k miles) has developed a not very loud grinding noise in the front left corner of the car. It only starts after the car's been running for about 1 hour in hot (~ over 75 degrees) weather. It's most pronounced under breaking when the up and down motions of the body are the biggest. I can feel it thru the steering. The first impression I had is that it's coming from the suspension but when I "pump" the left front corner of the car while stopped I can't hear it. If I move the steering wheel at the same time it's there.
A few months ago I've read here a thread about the same problem but I cannot find it anymore using search. If I remember well the problem was with power steering.
Please help shed some light into this. Thank you.
