Pre vs post facelift 1997 audi a8?

Pre vs post facelift 1997 audi a8?

Can someone tell the differences between the two?
I see the pre-facelift term used on the forum often ,I have done searches and can't find any info on this.

Look at 2000+ models...those are facelift minor and major changes.

HID headlight assembly with integrated corners

updated front bumper with extra bright work

updated rear bumper with extra bright work

different side fenders with elongated side markers

different grill main and lower

different hood

more modern door handles

I'm not sure of year, but newer cars had same sized side mirrors on both sides

Major:

98+ MY had Tiptronic modules

40V Engine

Drive by wire throttle system

I think some have the upper front strut tower braces?

Navigation

This is all I know

I based my decision on the 2000+ facelift cars....

I looked at a few 99's and decided to go w/ a facelifted car for some of the interior upgrades...the upgraded stereo and Nav. were a HUGE factor in why i purchased a 2001 facelift car.
I like the way the 2000+ headunits(double din) look in the dash...MUCH,MUCH nicer(IMHO)than pre-facelift cars...and as i have said in prior posts....i like the Nav. system.
I ended up w/ an A8L (long wheel base)...WOW, THIS THING IS FRICKIN HUGE,but, i am getting used to the size.
