Default Shoud I buy it?

I live in Alaska and have been looking to upgrad my 1995 audi a6 quattro to a audi a8 quattro. My question to all of you is: should I fly down to Portland from Anchorage Alaska and take a look at this car? It seems to me tat the car is in mint condition except for the body. The body problems don't bother me at all so that is not a decision maker for me. I just want to know what other A8 owners think of this car. Thanks a whole bunch. Hey is anyone knows of a a8 quattro around Seattle for the same price let me know.

Default No

Could be more damage than you think.
Not to mention other lurking repairs in addition to the travel time and effort.
Spend a little more $ and
Go for an '00+ face lift model.

Default Re: Shoud I buy it?

I would say if you can get it for $2500 to $3500, sure sounds like a fun project. Remember that these are VERY expensive to fix. Also consider that doing the timing belt is also a lot of $$$$. Hopefully, it has already been done.

Not a good deal at $5000. You can probably get a '98 or '99 in prefect running and physical condition for $7000 to $9000.

Default Don't even think about that piece of junk!

There are plenty of good ones for a few grand more. That car is a total piece of crap. You will spend at least $3000 to get it to look like one that you could buy that was not smashed up and salvaged.

Default this project will cost you well over $4000 to fix, unless you're a body shop guy!!!

if you get it for a $grand then maybe, but remember to drive/deliver to your neck of the woods will be EXPENSIVE!!!! get shipping (plane fare if your flying to get it) rates before bidding
