VAG tranny logs and hunting
Log 2 - % load, RPM, gear
Log 3 - Brake, PN active/inactive, Speed, Voltage
Log 4 - Temp, Bin bits, torque reduction?
Log 5 - ?????, gear
Log 6 - Amps
Log 7 - Temp, TC Open/closed, RPM
Log 8 - % load, overrun
Log 9 - torque, RPM, % load
I think Log 7 is the most important, you can see what the torque converter is doing in relation to everything else. Couple it with Log 2 for what gear you're in and Log 3 for how fast you're going.
I recoded my tranny back to 00001 and left it in D.
No hunting in gears 1,2 or 3. Hunting starts in fourth gear, 38ish mph, I think mainly because it's geared too far away from 3. The TC can't decided between staying open or closing. On the log you'll see Torq. Conv. Regulation.
My highest load was 48% under full throttle, I don't understand how Paul had such high reading.
Good luck and please share what you find.
2. It'll produce too much heat on the highway and could cause the tranny to overheat.
My suggestion was to try to move the speed which the TC closes in fourth gear from 38 mph to 50 mph. But that would involve reprogramming the software.
Tozo is still looking for a way to make the TC respond quicker. We believe the answer lies in the valve body.
Interesting watching the DS program take over and also worth looking closer at the trans input torque when the converter control take hold.
The car goes to an overun situation in most cases which is bound to confuse the torque control.
I will sit down tonight with what I have and try to get my head around it all.
What engine code are you?[just so I can be looking at the correct info?
