Bose Stereo improvement?
Has anyone tried to improve the sound quality of the Bose stereo? It's got lots of power, good bass and treble, but the mids just sound muddled. Anyone try added an equalizer? Anyone try adding another set of midrange speakers? I would like to improve the mids without changing anything visible. If you have any solutions, please drop me an email. Thanks.

I think the BOSE in the TT sounds good. It's got a lot of clean power. I've had it up very loud and I haven't been able to distort the sound (the speakers can handle it). My only complaint, and this is with Audi stereos in general, is the mids sound a bit muddled to me. My A4 without BOSE and my TT with BOSE both sound that way to me. I'm looking for an easy fix for that, but the other option is to forgo the BOSE, and get a high quality Alpine (or other high quality) amp and an MB Quart component package. I haven't priced such a setup, but I'm guessing your in the $1200 neck of the woods. Maybe a better option, but you might have to sacrifice interior space for the amp and sub-woofer. If you're not into aftermarket stereo stuff, the BOSE certainly beats the stock stereo, especially for power and bass response, hands down. Of course, you can always do better by spending a couple grand in the aftermarket world. The same with engines, you could do a K04 turbo and chip and exhaust, but for me the 180hp is plenty and it's not worth changing it from stock. YMMV. Hope this helps.
