Touch up paint -first oil change
Got my touch up paint (silver) yesterday. It does come with clear coat although the instructions are in German and long, hope they offer an English version. My girlfreind can read German so I'll have her translate an post the key points. Also changed my oil this weekend, not as simple as most cars. You need to remove a panel that covers the whole underside of the motor, this is held on with aprox 12 metal screws #20 thorax and four twist faseners. Also access to the filter is made a little difficult becauese of a lower chassis brace that doubles as a connecter for the two intercoolers in the 225hp model. The brace is steel and about 2" in diameter and blocks direct access. It's not all that bad just harder than most cars. Anyway I'm going on vacation with the TT and girlfreind so talk to you in two weeks. JIM

What weight oil did you use ? I also changed mine last week at 1200 miles. Had to wait for the TT oil filter--why I dont know. Dealer told me that the A-4 filter was too long and would not fit --Not so. After removing the umpteen zillion fasteners and the pan there is plenty of room, except as you stated where contortions were necessary to free the filter from its home. Regular Fram filter for the Audi A-4 1.8T would fit with room to spare. <p>Good Luck,<br>Bill

1200 miles seems a little early to be changing the oil. Is there some particular reason you did this? I have 2000 miles on mine and am starting to wonder when I should consider my first oil change. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
