Accident with TTs???

I heard from my friends saying that TT in Germany's car accident rate is very HIGH...
is that true ??!

No, it's not true. There have been several fatal accidents, though,

but these seem to happen when the car is going 120+ mph while braking into a turn.

still... how come this happens ??? when 120 with a brake and turn ???

Would you go 120 and brake in a turn in your present vehicle?

Breaking during a high-speed turn produces a condition called oversteer,

in which the rear lightens while the front tires stay attached to the road, and that can produce a spin.

This would happen with most cars, but it may be that the TT will lighten more than a Boxter or a BMW.

It's for this reason that Audi is modifying the car. Changes to suspension will make it easier for drivers are reaching the point when the rear will give way, and the spoiler will produce more downforce on the rear, reducing its tendancy to grow light in certain conditions.

If this issue worries you, relax. Order a car, rather than buy one now on the lot, because the newer TTs--one you order--will have these modifications.

I did not want the modifications, however, so I bought my TT earlier than I really wanted to in order to get one without these modifications
