Default EVO Magazine Comparo - 225 TTQ Roadster & Boxster (more)

First off, I'm trying to remember a few things I read. (I've got a good memory, it's just a little short.) I didn't feel like spending 8 bucks or so on a magazine.

They made a comment that the TT Roadster didn't seem to have the same handling problems as the TT Coupe.

Exterior looks - TT wins.

Interior looks - TT wins hands down.

Transmission shifting - Boxster wins. "If only the same person who designed the aluminum rings for the air vents designed the transmission..."

Transmission shifting - TT is "notchy", Boxster is smooth.

Handling - Boxster wins, but not by a lot. They liked the TT's wet weather handling more. The didn't like not being able to feel when the TT was on edge.

Price - TT wins (based on estimated price)

Stereo - they actually liked the Bose sound quality and power quite a bit. Didn't comment on Boxster stereo.

Storage - Boxster wins

Retractable roof - pretty much even

Tonneau cover - Boxster wins

Exhaust note - Boxster wins

0-100 time - Boxster wins

Comments from the magazine:

After driving the TT, the writer got behind the wheel of the Boxster and commented "now you know what you've been missing."

The Audi TT Roadster is the car you want to look at in your driveway. The Boxster doesn't look as good in the driveway, but that doesn't matter because that's the car you'll want to drive.

Audi TT Roadster ****
Porsche Boxster *****

The article is definitely worth reading. I'm sure I didn't do it justice here. Make a trek out to Border's and read the article while drinking an espresso. Lots of good pics of the Roadster and Boxster. There is also a good article about Audi acquiring Lamborghini with a good picture of a TT Coupe next to a Diablo.

The magazine article isn't available online.

Enjoy!
