Very angry, confused, frustrated with my tt right now (long)
#1 after two months same thing cranks but no start. Dealer installed update computer, plugs etc. also replaced the fuel pump ? don't know why but fuse was blown and dealer replaced as precaution.
#2 transmission very loud bearing noise in 4th gear. Waited 4 weeks for new transmission. Now the noise is in 2nd gear. Also had some difficulty shifting 2nd sometimes. needs another transmission.
#3 ignition noise when playing cd (dealer could not duplicate.
#4 after transmission installed steering wheel off center.
#5 no start 2nd time left me stranded today at park with my son after his soccer game. (very embarrased people asking how I liked my car and I just said "no comment at this time".
unrelated but bad luck stuff.
Lady swiped across rear bumper cover as I watched. Car was parked and she had plenty of room . Her ins. covered the repairs and she said she was sorry.
Two weeks later a truck cuts in front of me entering the car wash. He apparently did not see me becase after he entered his wash code and it did not work he threw his truck in reverse and backed right into the front of my car $2700 estimate (grill, front cover, right headlight etc. all cosmetic).
I really like this car. I am a Mercedes Mechanic by trade and an nice '96 or so SL500 convertible sound real nice about now especially with summer. What should I do. I have owned this car for about a year. I have done some modifications recently and was just starting to enjoy the car more than ever. Thanks for support Mark
The no start upon crank thing should DEFINITELY register a trouble code or 5 in the computer. Ask what these are when it gets looked at again.
The ignition noise when playing CD is a problem in a ground, either a ground loop (two grounds on same wire introducing noise) or a missing ground. People here have seen this, and it is fixable, it seems to take a service department interested in taking the time to find it.
Where are you? If you are in the Southeast or Florida I have a name or two you could escalate the technical issues to. E-mail me. In California, Brad Willis may have a name or two as well. Others may be similarly lucky.
Keep is posted, and feel free to vent here. That is what we are here for.<p>Ivan

I am in the Denver south metro area ighlands
Ranch. I had the car towed to the other dealer in town this time and they seem to think this car is a lemon. If the transmission needs replacing this time it will be the 3rd complaint for the transmission.
Thanks, Mark
