alms TT
Just purchased a new ALMS last night. While driving home I heard a strange noise when shifting above 5500 rpm's from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. Almost like a release of back pressure. Took the car to the dealer this morning and they replaced a valve but the noise still exists. While there I drove another 225 and no such noise. In addition, there is a fairly distinct vibration that comes through the floor and steering wheel at about 3300 rpm's when the car is either moving or sitting still in nuetral. Service manager suggested that I wait a couple of hundred miles to see if it gets worse. I don't want to be a guinea pig while they look for the problem. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing the two issues. Another thing the S. mgr. suggested was that the ALMS has a different suspension and that may be a contributing factor to the problem. I didn't know that the suspension was different but it's hard to see how it could be the cause. Thanks in advance.

Well first off... congrats and welcome...
however what you are reporting is unusual. I would be sure that all communication be in writing just to CYA. Check the archives for techniques to handle the dealership. They should respond better then you have reported. Good Luck!

the sus is the same...and ya shouldnt be up over 5k rpm anyways hehe...
but as for the problems...maybe take it to another dealer? Document everything just in case...good luck.

First noise sounds like the operation of the Diverter Valve. When it works, you can hear a kinds of whoosh or phhsst sound between shifts, especially at high RPMs. When it doesn't, you hear a rattle, buzz or flutter sound.
Second problem would NOT be suspension if you feel it standing still. There is at least one person here who had their flywheel replaced for similar symptoms.
The ALMS TT does NOT have a different suspension other than the wheels and tires being different.
