Upcoming TT purchase
Hi Everyone:
I'm looking at purchasing an Audi 180hp TT quattro in the next month or so, however, I'm interested in understanding the modifications that best increase the output of the 5V turbo 1.8 engine. I'd love to buy the 225hp TT, but funds are a little short. I guess my first thoughts are increasing the turbocharger system level boost via an ECU upgrade. Also, wondering if any of you have ordered the 225hp dual exhaust for your 180hp quattros, and any results.

The current listed base price of 180 QC is $32,950, while 225 QC is $36,100.
I dunno current costs of chips, exhausts, etc., but you may want to evaluate the combined costs, risks, and potential hassles of such modifications as compared to the relatively small approx. $3K price difference.
I'm not saying you can't achieve equivalent or possibly better power than Audi did for less $$$, and doing your own mods may be fun, but there are tradeoffs to consider between the 2 methods of achieving the power, so you'll have to decide what's best for you. Doing it yourself lets you spend the money when it's convenient - if you buy the 225, you have to pay up front. On the other hand, if 225 bhp is enough for you, all you have to do is drive it off the lot.
