Raspy metallic sound while driving...
...doesn't sound like it's coming from exhaust or engine compartment at idle. I'm hearing it while driving with the windows rolled down, mostly from the passenger side. It's fairly cyclical sounding (though constant) but putting in the clutch and modulating the gas seems to show a less than direct correlation.
Exhaust leak? Is it my cat perhaps? Is it normal and I should just stop worrying?
Also, what are the symptoms of a failing DV, besides surging when you go up through the gears?

Do you have any power loss.....
I think I have a similar sound. Sounds like it is coming from the passenger side dash area. Changes when I get on or off the gas. I have no loss in power, so I am not concerned, just annoyed. I think I have something loose in the dash that rattles at a certain frequency.
