Default typically the TT is very good at .....

keeping itself groomed and does not require any *anti-bacterial* soap......actually I have heard that a TT's mouth is one of the cleanest places you could put your fingers..

Anyway.....it is usually recommended to not use any dish soaps on automotive surfaces because it tends to take the wax off but if that is what you are trying to accomplish then....I dunno?

lol....hope that confused you more!

Default Zaino recommends using Dawn to strip all old polish and wax...

prior to using their products, including clay bar or the full multi-step polishing regimen.

This is in the auditt.org FAQ.

My TT practices good hygeine and, yes, I want the wax off to start fresh.

In that case, use warm water as well.

Default actually it is one of...(longish)

the least caustic to paint. I actually just applied Zaino to my TT and A6 avant last weekend and used Dawn to "prep" the surface. It worked really well. It removed all of the wax as i could not get the water to bead at all. Make sure you rinse the car VERY well to get all of the soap of.
As Zaino recommends this in order to get the best performance out of their product, i am now a convert.
It was interesting as it really seamed to additionally help with the glass, specifically the windshield. The buildup from road crap (oil and such) came of easy, and combining the wiper blades as well seemed to "revive" my well used wiper blades.

After only 1 coat of Z5 and 1 coat of Z2, i cannot believe the difference already. I am applying another coat of Z2 this weekend, and again the following weekend as i am on a quest to see how "deep" i can make the paint look. Look for some before and after photos soon....

Good luck!

Default you guys are making me antsy (more)

I'm in Chicagoland, and my car is really, REALLY begging for the yearly strip-down and start-over, all-day-long once-a-year procedure. heh. I just don't want to get to it yet, since we may still get more snow. I'll have to hold myself back for another month or so to be sure.
