Interesting conversation w/dealer re:recoding stereo and keyfob
Well, my parts are in for the privacy shelf, and stereo fix per TSB, so I figured I ask if they could do the windows and stereo reprogram.
He had no problem with doing the stereo reprogram, but said he would not do the windows because the code removed the pinch protection(read the windows automatically go down if some get caught).
Does the window code in fact do this?

He is almost right. The code removes the pinch protection IF the battery dies...
some codes are volatile and some are fixed in the central locking system. I was warned about this when it was done to my car.
My pinch protection still works. I tested it with a paper towel roll. However, my battery has never died (knock wood) so I cannot prove what I was told for certain.
