Default Happy to have my TT back. Unhappy with the work done.

My TT was hit in the back while parked 4 weeks ago. It was towed and there was 3000 dollars worth of damage. Mostly the rear bumper, left rear bumper and left tail light needed to be replaced. I just got the car back yesterday.

I assume that in order to get the dent out of the side from directly above the wheel it was necessary to remove the drivers side door and remove the side panel (that goes up and over the window) and repaint it.

I picked up the car yesterday. Everything looked fine when I inspected in, but when driving it on the highway today I noticed much more noise and wind coming through the drivers side door.
I looked at the window from the outside and I noticed that it was no longer making a seal with the door frame. In fact, when looking from above you can see a gap wide enough between the window and the molding to see into the car through it. I assume this is because the door or molding was not replaced correctly.

Futhermore when inspecting the beam that goes across the top of the window I noticed a gap between the top of the clear coat and the top of the rubber window molding. This has caused the clear coat to begin to start chipping away. I'm not sure if this is because this panel was repainted poorly or because the rubber window molding was reinstalled wrong. The joints where the rubber molding meets the car side in the front and back look horrible as if a glob of clear coat has formed there. I'm not sure, but it appears to me that once clear coat begins to chip the chip will spread. Anybody else have any experience with this happening?

Any suggestions on what I should do? I'm going to call the dealer on Monday, and I hope that it doesn't have to get sent back to the autobody shop again (they must hate me there), but I think these two problems are something to be concerned about. I tried to take pictures of this problem, but due to the windows reflection it was very hard to get the digital camera to focus correctly. In the picture below you can clearly see the window gap and if you look closely above the window you can sort of see the edge of the clearcoat.

Default ok, I'm replying to my own post...

first, sorry for all the whining recently .

Let me just say that I fell in love with TT for the second time when I got it back after being in the shop for 4 weeks. I was driving around a rental Camry for all that time and when I got back in my TT I was like: Wow, was it really this powerful? Was the handling really this good. Did the leather smell this good. I really missed it!

now, for a question. What is the easiest way to fix chipping clearcoat? Does the panel need to be removed, stripped and repainted? Or is there is something you can use to protect it and keep it from chipping off more? I have some "touch-up" clear coat but I am reluctant to use it.

Default Well I think I'd be in whoever's face that "fixed" my TT if I was you!

And yes your picture CLEARLY shows the lack of quality repair. Was it an Audi dealer that supposedly fixed your TT? And if it was did they fix it themselves or did they "farm" it out?

Sent to an Audi dealer, they farmed it out to an autobody shop.
