Default Considering a TTR 225, what am I in for?

Hi all, I'm new to this site as I am just considering buying my first Audi.

I'm out car shopping and I come across a Silver/Baseball TTR 225. It wants me to buy it, I can tell.

I'm not really into performance mods, but fixing things like the DV problem that I've read about here. What are some of the other things that "need" to be fixed should I plunk down the hard earned cash for this fine piece of machinery?

Living Large near Laguna Seca
TIA

Default BUY IT! You'll thank yourself a hundred times a day! (mine is the same Silver/baseball combo) more

Don't let the all the DV talk scare you. First of all, it isn't a problem on all TTs. Plus, replacing it isn't a big deal anyway. Remember, many of the gentlemen on this forum are very mechanically inclined and certainly very knowledgable about the TT in particular. As a result, there tends to be lots of talk about "fixing this" or "modifying that". They talk through problems and help each other solve them. It's a fantastic resource, especially for people like me who consider changing oil a risky proposition! But trust me... (and anyone on this forum will agree)this is one FABULOUS car, beautifully designed and crafted and reliable as hell.

Plus, if you don't buy it now, you'll be haunted by it until you do! It's obvious you've caught the bug.
Good luck!

Default Buy It! You'll have a smile on your face you can't remove.

I've had my Nimbus/Ebony roadster almost a year although I didn't drive it here in New England from December to March and still managed to put 10,000 miles on it. I have not had any major problems and all the minor ones the dealer has fixed, i.e., loose wire on the fuel injector, broken latch on the little cubby behind the seats, no DV problems to speak of.

Default Just do it! (sorry Nike) You'll be glad you did......

I haven't had to "fix" anything on my TTR...I'm only replacing the DV...to avoid possible issues later...As you can read from the posts here....Otherwise...No mods planned.

Default Before you go silver, think green. :) What? Me biased?

Just read the comparison on edmunds.com and they said the baseball optic leather was prone to wear. Is this true? How has your experience been with it so far?

Thanks to all. You will more than likely be seeing me on this board after I pick up my Silver/Baseball TTR 225.

What's a good price these days? Can you get them under MSRP (in Calif.)?

BTW - The local dealer does have a Green/Green/Green TTR 225 on the lot that just arrived. Looks sharp, but the silver is for me.

Default I've only had my TTR for 3 months so too early to tell. (more)

It makes sense that it would be prone to wear since the stitching is raised and big. But I'll tell you, the compliments you'll get on that interior will put a smile on your face everyday!
Risk the wear! (or do what I did and lease! No way it'll wear that badly in 3 years)
