Damn but that ECU is difficult to remove... can't wait to put it back in and destroy the rest of my
Pull the rubber gasket away and then pop/prop the plastic cover against the open hood (pulling the left side up and as much room as you need)
Remove the small plastic cover near the pollen filter and then you can use a screwdriver to free the ECU (first time is hardest on that left clip)
You can 'yank' the ecu out by GENTLY tugging on the cables if you can't fit your hand in to pull the ecu out.
I changed out the ECU in well under 5 minutes and got all the bugs off the car before she was done with the dog.

Seriously, just start by prying up the black skirt. Pry it off of the windshield. If you do it gently you'll be okay. Some have cracked it. Once this is done, getting to the ECU is a breeze!
