squeaky front end..

Someone posted about a squeak up front in their TT - mine's doing it and I think it's the rubber bushing in our fine mkII control arms. But I'm guessing of course.

Anyone with the original front suspension have squeaks? I'm curious if others who have squeaks would post - mine happens easily going over a speed bump slowly for example.

My car has ~13k miles on it and the squeak is a recent symptom.

Cures or bandaids only?

not especially but even when hot and dry? (humid as hell) it squeaks

didn't do this last hot, humid summer

Likely the front swaybar bushings. Common problem on VW's.

To verify source...hit sway bar bushings...one at a time with some WD40 (spray one...drive...

then do next one) and then same process for lower control arms...eventually will isolate source if indeed it is a bushing etc. Just a thought...

That would be me. Does the squeak occur right away or do you have to drive the car some before you hear it? It was the bushings. They were removed, cleaned and re-lubricated using Dow Silicone 111 lubricant. They first tried a copper anti-seize lubricant but that did not work. Tell your service guy to contact Ray the Service Manager at Bernarid Audi in Natick, MA for details or e-mail me and I'll provide any additional info I may have.
